Holiday Safety Reminders

Remember to keep your home and family safe during the holiday season with these tips: 
  • Keep doors (including garage and vehicles) locked and all valuables out of view. 
  • Break down boxes showing expensive purchases so burglars don't know what you have purchased. 
  • Prevent porch pirates from striking by making alternate delivery choices when possible (such as having items delivered to your office or a neighbor who is home during the day). 
  • Keep blinds/curtains closed, especially at night, so would-be burglars can't take "inventory" of your home. 
  • Check your surroundings when entering and leaving your home, vehicle, and stores. There's safety in numbers when out shopping or returning home.
  • If you're going away for the holidays, have your mail stopped or picked up by a trusted neighbor.
