Local Brandon residents have reported increased vehicle break-ins, currently in the Providence Lakes and Sterling Ranch neighborhoods. Home security footage shows several males canvassing neighborhoods between 2:00-5:00 am, which was confirmed by a deputy taking a theft report. The thieves are targeting unlocked vehicles and will take any item, even those of low value. Homeowners are reminded to:

• Double and triple-check your vehicles are locked.
• Remove ALL items you wish to keep from your vehicle, including garage door openers.
